PRINCIPAL BASS TROMBONE
Devin Roark
Devin Roark joined the Firelands Symphony Orchestra as bass trombonist in 2012. He is also the bass trombonist for the Snowbelt Symphony Orchestra and the trombonist for the Olympic Brass Quintet. Mr. Roark has had the opportunity to perform with a number of other ensembles across the Midwest, South, and Eastern Seaboard, including the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra, Lima Symphony Orchestra, Akron Symphonic Winds, Mansfield Symphony Orchestra, Orlando Philharmonic, Northwest Florida Philharmonic, and Kentucky Symphony Orchestra. A jazz enthusiast, Mr. Roark has performed with a number of Cleveland area jazz ensembles such as the Dan Zola Orchestra, the Mojo Big Band, the Cleveland TOPS Swing Band, and the Cleveland Jazz Orchestra. He has performed as a seasonal musician for Disney World theme parks. Also a classically trained baritone vocalist, he was a member of the Old Stone Church choir in downtown Cleveland and is currently a choral scholar at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Lakewood, Ohio.
Originally from Pensacola, Florida, Mr. Roark graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in bass trombone music performance from Stetson University, the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music with a Masters degree in bass trombone performance, and a post-baccalaureate education certificate from Cleveland State University. By day he is a technologist as a site reliability engineer for Cleveland area-based OverDrive. OverDrive is most well known for their Libby app, providing ebook and audiobook access to library patrons around the world.
